OTM 2017: Time to go and catch Russian tourists!

Keep in mind these three letters: OTM. Online Travel Mart: Summer 2017. The most ambitious outbound tourism fair for the Russian travel market has started on the Profi.Travel portal.

OTM: Summer 2017 – international online fair where NTOs, tour operators, hoteliers and air companies from around the world will present their seasonal offers to travel agencies of Russia and the CIS. OTM will see almost 50 exhibitors from Europe, Asia and Africa – about 20 tour operators and DMCs, more than 20 hotels and hotel chains as well as representatives of national tourism offices in Russia. On Monday the 6th the site of the fair has been launched, and exhibitors have set up their booths with SPOs and catalogues.

We know where Russian tourists are headed this summer


Among the partners of the fair are Greek NTO and tour operator Mouzenidis Travel; even now it is clear that Greek resorts will see thousands of Russian tourists this year.

A vast array of key tour operators for outbound tourism on the Russian market will set up their booths at OTM: ANEX Tour, PAC GROUP, De Visu, Quinta Tour, The Old City, ClickVoyage, Cru Club that specializes on sea cruises, and many others. Besides that, DMCs of Turkey, Germany and the Maldives: Calypso Tour, Tangiers Travel (Turkey), Ambotis Holidays, Smart System Holidays LLC Dubai, Resort Life Maldives, Levitin Reisen (Germany) etc will join us.

But OTM fair will by no means be limited to beach destinations only: opportunities for summer excursion activities in Europe will be presented by tourist boards - VisitBritain, Vienna Tourist Board, Visit Sweden.

Online Travel Mart will proudly present multiple hotels, from well-known chains like Grecotel Hotels & Resorts, Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts, Helios Hotels and Resorts, Acrotel Hotels & Resorts, Blau Hotels & Resorts, Sbokos Hotel Group, Novostar, Barceló, Elounda Luxury Hotels and Resorts – to recently opened hotels Riolavitas SPA & Resort 5* (Side) and Nikki Beach Resort & SPA Dubai 5* (UAE).

And, of course, air companies will also take part in the fair – Etihad Airways, Czech Airlines, Alitalia as well as theme parks (Disneyland Paris), railroads – Voyages SNCF and even exhibitors representing wellness tourism – Tripaesthetic Health and Tourism İnc, Turkish chain of clinics Acibadem.

2017: the year of improvement at the travel market


The Fair OTM: Summer 2017 will define the destinations that will choose Russian tourists for the season of spring-summer 2017. It was no coincidence that February has been chosen as a month to hold a fair – early bookings are starting as early as in February, so travel agencies are eager to get information about seasonal new offers from market players..

2017 per se will be the year of increased tourist flow from Russia: currency rates change, allowing Russian tourists to afford vacations abroad. The deep-rooted habit to relax abroad, more relaxed visa policies (in the case of the UAE) and improvement of political situation (mending Russian-Turkish relations) will encourage active trips overseas.

Massive PR of exhibitors – for massive promotion on the Russian market


The PR campaign of the fair has started on Monday the 6th of February on the Profi.Travel website with e-newsletters sent to more than 100 000 tour operators of Russia and the CIS as well as ads in social networks. In the course of only three days more than 1300 tourism employees from all of Russia and the CIS have registered to take part in the fair! Starting from the 6th of February, they are visiting exhibition booths, exploring special offers, booking SPOs, asking questions to the exhibitors’ representatives. In next to no time, on the 13th of February, main activities of the fair will start allowing travel professionals to learn about brand new seasonal offers on exhibitors’ presentations, read news of the companies and expert articles prepared by the Profi.Travel editorial team, establish direct contacts with inbound and outbound tour operators, hoteliers and other market players.

All in all, about 3000 travel agencies are expected to visit the fair. The massive PR campaign of the exhibitors will last for 4 weeks until the very end of the fair.
